In this study, the authors looked at what matters various stakeholders. What struck me was that what matters to one set of stakeholders may not matter to another, and yet it is possible to come up with a list of values (I would call them benefits) that define a workplace, knowing that while those things will matter they will matter differently according to individual needs and ideas of what causes trust.
But they also talk about the fact that trust brings with it a competitive advantage. In the Durable Trust world, that makes it something every organization needs, and not something they can afford to be without. It gives commercial organizations a leg up, but in non-commercial organizations, like schools, it is the key to addressing many of the tensions wrought by narrative competition, by institutional pressures, and by narrative competition.
