All Durable LabsĀ efforts are groundedĀ in solid research

The exciting news is that researchers have been thinking about the problems we are tryingĀ to solve for the last four decades (and then some). Starting in the mid 1990s, trust started to be thought of structurally, as something that could be built and not simply as an artifact of relationships. What we are doing here at Durable Labs is building on that tradition and adding to it as best we can.

Our contribution centers on fourĀ things:

  1. Putting this work into mission-based organizations in some truly unique ways.
  2. Bringing in the notion that professions and their organizations are defined by benefits.
  3. The idea that narrative competitions aren't won with more or better narratives, but with the right language used in the everyday conversations between organizations and those they serve.
  4. Benefits-based accountings that in the end turn out to just as important as financial accountings.

What follows on this page isĀ an annotated bibliography of the research that inspired and supports this work. Each piece of research is then tagged with the solutions and offerings that tie to it.Ā
